The application fee is $50 per applicant. A one-time, non-refundable $150 lease origination fee is due at lease signing.
No. Colony Apartments is not age-restricted. Any adult 18 or older can apply. Residents 55 and over are welcome, and so are students, young professionals, roommates and families.
The RTA Blue Line runs down the middle of Van Aken Boulevard right in front of the property. Drexmore station (2770 Van Aken Blvd) and South Woodland station are at either end of the buildings, and Shaker Square is one stop west. Blue Line trains run to Tower City in downtown Cleveland, about six miles west. University Circle (Case Western Reserve, Cleveland Clinic main campus, University Hospitals) is roughly three miles north by car or bus.

Downtown Cleveland is about six miles west. By car it is usually a 15 to 20 minute drive. By RTA, the Blue Line stops right in front of the property (Drexmore and South Woodland stations) and runs straight to Tower City downtown with no transfers.
Colony Apartments is on Van Aken Boulevard in Shaker Heights. Shaker Square, with its restaurants, shops and farmers market, is one Blue Line stop west, and the Van Aken District is a short drive east. Absolutely! At Colony Apartments, we strive to make you feel comfortable and at home, so we have no objections to you mounting a TV on the wall. We only request that you take responsibility for any damage caused by the mounting and arrange for our maintenance team to obtain the paint colors used when you move out.

Yes, Colony Apartments is pet friendly. Cats and small dogs are allowed. Certain dog breeds are restricted, so please confirm your pet with the leasing office before applying. Pet fees are a $350 non-refundable pet deposit per pet plus $35 per month per pet. Pet terms are written into your lease.
Yes, at Colony apartments it is generally mandatory that all residents have renters insurance. You may have the option to purchase a policy directly from us, or you may obtain coverage from a different provider. Whichever way you go, please make sure to give a copy of your policy to the property management office to keep for our records.
The security deposit equals one month’s rent (currently $1,099 for a 1 bedroom and $1,325 for a 2 bedroom). The application fee is $50 per applicant, and there is a one-time, non-refundable $150 lease origination fee. It is due when you sign the lease.
